Soni Anand, the daughter and jewel of one of the most influential people in the UK Asian Wedding industry, Sanjay Anand (Madhus), married her Maharaja this past weekend following a whole month of celebrations and events.
Kudos Music were selected alongside DBZ Events (Event Management), Dream Occasions (Decor), Maya Dahlia Cakes, Salshan (Cinema), Eye Jogia (Photo) to take charge of proceedings.
With the 'cream of the crop' in wedding suppliers taking control of arguably the grandest wedding in UK Asian Wedding history, delivering multiple events to thousands of people over the course of April was one of the proudest achievements in Kudos Music history.
Of course to make history meant months of planning, meetings, discussions and changes to bring such a mammoth event to reality.
Here we take a look back at the build up to the spectacular Maharajas Ball that took place at The Grosvenor House Hotel. The Wedding of Soni and Jas..
Civil Ceremony – The Grove, Watford
The Amber Suite at the prestigious Grove Hotel in Hertfordshire played host to the beautiful Civil Ceremony of Soni and Jas. The ceremony was an all white affair, with a custom stage build attached to a matching white high gloss walkway. With flashes of amber lighting, a classy warm feel was brought to this already beautiful suite. Sanjay Anand led his daughter down the walkway to the dulcet tones of the Kudos Harpist.
With vows exchanged, Soni and Jas now officially married in the eyes of the law, joined their guests for Afternoon Tea. They were treated to an acoustic guitar and singer performance during their tea, this all whilst preparations took place for the evening reception.
A turnaround that involves Kudos generally means making the impossible possible, in the shortest of time frames. This event was no different, in came bespoke staging, 4 lines of truss for a high scale lighting production, a hand painted marble dance floor, uplighting and Kudos DJ, Rajeev B.
With Bhangra, Bollywood, Commercial and Old Skool music on the menu, Rajeev B made quite the statement, keeping everyone in the room on the dance floor into the early hours. This being only the beginning of an epic quartet of parties to come.
Jas's Pre Wedding – Nine Kings Suite, Lancaster London Hotel
The Lancaster London is an iconic hotel that sits proudly in the heart of Hyde Park. The West end is renowned for its exclusive vibrant nightlife, this is of course where the rich and famous wine and dine.
For this one night an exclusive VIP event took place in the Nine Kings Suite. The task was to bring a high end A-list club feel to the room. Kudos offered a continuity of the black and gold theme, ensuring it was infused into the setting. A raised DJ set was created to allow VIP seating, this together with a gold 4m circular, black dance floor and an exclusive new Kudos Black LED DJ booth. All these iconic pieces were embezzled with the Soni/Jas logo making this a very exclusive and personalised event.
Two lines of truss flown in which accompanied with the Absen A3 Pro LED screen added further glitz and glamour to the event. Once again it was Rajeev B who took control of proceedings, offering the ultimate Pre Wedding experience with Bhangra anthems and international club vibes.
Soni Sangeet Party – Sheraton Skyline Hotel
The penultimate party was held at Sheraton Skyline Hotel, Heathrow. The setting for Soni's sangeet party. It's fair to say that that none of the Suites at Sheraton have ever looked as magnificent and stunning as they did at the Sangeet party. Fresh floral extravagance, embodied in a candle lit, sequinned silver and white masterpiece forged the supreme look created by Dream Occasions and Kudos Music/AV. White draping around the room was supported by a mammoth 'invisible truss structure' which carried some mighty Robe lighting fixtures that offered a mix of colour wash, gobo wash and beam lighting. The lighting really added the final touch to some truly epic decor. In many instances it was a case of walking in to the suite and walking back out to get a reality check. Yes, this was a Hotel in the heart of Heathrow.
With all the action taking place on the Silver Mirrored Dancefloor, courtesy of Kudos DJ, Jas Johal it was a great family event. A poignant moment for Soni, as this was her last family event before both families joined together for what would be the biggest asian wedding at Grosvenor House Hotel, ever!
The Maharaja Ball – Wedding Reception of Soni and Jas (Maharaja; noun historically, person who ruled an area)
The Great Room, JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel
The iconic Great Room at the illustrious Grosvenor House Hotel was host to 1300 guests for the Maharaja Ball, the chosen theme for the wedding reception of Soni and Jas.
Looking through the Kudos Portfolio, you will see many a successful event taking place at Grosvenor House. Nothing comes close to the scale of this one.
Maharaja's, the kings of India, landowners and the wealthiest throughout history have a regal and opulent culture. Reds and golds are the rich colours that define them and these are the colours that were used to define Soni and Jas's wedding reception.
The feature projection mapped backdrop was the mainstay for this amazing theme. Powerful projectors (2 x Christie Projectors offering 2 × 14,000 lumens double stack with blending) beamed through to create a Taj Mahal/Sheesh Mahal themed backdrop.
A custom stage finished in gold linked into the bespoke dancefloor. Not any old bespoke dancefloor, a beautiful hand carved and hand painted centre motif which had Soni and Jas logo etched into it's centre. Above stood tall, a 7ft masterpiece of a cake by the uber talented Krishma Mandalia from Maya Dahlia Cakes and with superb decor from industry trendsetters, Dream Occasions, the Maharaja theme was truly encapsulated
The event hosts and Kudos DJ's Jas Johal and Rajeev B were not the only high end entertainment for the evening. They were joined by the phenomenal Gilev Band, Toast Master extraordinaire Andy Bignold and Drumline Dhol players. The event was captured by Salshan Cinema, Eye Jogia Photography and food of course courtesy of the mighty Madhus Catering.
