Everyone loves a bit of boliyan; the best way to get all members of a family spanning generations up altogether on the dancefloor. Boliyan have been interpreted and done in so many ways by so many different producers and musicians in the past… But have you ever heard of a Michael Jackson-esque boliyan? Well you have now!
Bringing together the iconic musician and dancer that was the legendary Michael Jackson and mashing him up with a bit of traditional Indian bhangra with the vocals of newcomer, Saini Surinder, Kudos' own Rajeev B has taken boliyan as we know them, to the very next level leaving us a product that he calls 'Beat It Boliyan'.
Michael Jackson's music had a big impact on Rajeev B growing up, and as his death almost 3 years ago hit the world hard, it hit Mr B hard too. Rajeev B wanted to pay tribute to an unforgettable legend through music, so taking guitar riffs from the massive track 'Beat It' and fusing them together with a bit of traditional bhangra he has produced something for all Indians and other fans to remember MJ by.
The track cleverly integrates the two genres of music and two completely different sounds leaving something that rather than sounding tacky and cheap (as you usually find with Michael Jackson fusions), is something that retains both elements but is essentially a bhangra track and remains true to this.
Releasing on the 3rd death anniversary of Michael, 'Beat It Boliyan' will be available from iTunes on 25th June this year, as well as the official video release which is something to look out for in itself.
